Our Christmas

I still had a secret Kyle didn't know about, the hotel Christmas, and he was about to find out. When we were waiting in line for a cab, I pulled out the room key that was in an envelope and gave it to him. He was very confused but I said just be patient. After dealing with out stupid cabbie we made it to the hotel. I didn't need to check in since I already had. I was do excited in the elevator I still couldn't contain myself I wanted to show him his surprise so badly! Once we got to the room he saw the sign on the door and I explained that since he couldn't be here for Christmas, I made it for us! He loved everything! I showed him around the whole place and everything that I had done.

Our cute little christmas tree!
Loaded baked potato soup with strawberry mango sangria and cute straws to match!

The first thing he wanted to do was to have me open my present but I told him to wait. He wanted to take it out of his suitcase at the airport an have me open it he was so excited! I said we needed to eat first then gifts. So he unpacked a little, put my gifts under the tree and hung my stocking while I prepared dinner. Loaded baked potato soup with a strawberry mango sangria. It was so good we were stuffed! We had cookies and caramel for dessert.

Yes, now we get to open our gifts. We had so much fun and even after a log day for the both of us were still super giddy and exited about everything. Kyle really spoiled me. I was so surprised to open my presets, he did so good.
Our stockings. Kyle did such a good job picking mine out. He is so wonderful!

We decided to start a new tradition this year, to give each other stockings. These will be our stockings for some time to come I'm sure but it was super fun putting them together! Kyle found mine online and had it embroidered with my name on it, so cute! The second I saw it I was so excited I jumped up and down!!
I wanted to make his stocking since I couldnt find one to buy that was just right for him. I found a navy blue stocking and had been collecting Navy ornaments to decorate it with like the anchor patches and some old vintage Navy buttons I had found downtown.

Just finished opening my stocking, I was seriously spoiled!
Kyle getting ready to open his stocking

After our stockings, Kyle couldn't wait any more and had me open my Christmas present. He was so excited he couldn't contain himself. And after I opened it I couldn't contain my excitement!
Finally opening my present that Kyle had been anxiously waiting for me to do. I was so surprised!

Brand new UGG boots with bows on them!! How freaking perfect for me?!

I was so excited I had to put them on right away.
Opening Christine's gift, hehe.
My parents got Kyle a To Die For shirt!

One of my presents for Kyle, a new warm beanie hat. He wore it the whole trip!

We were both pretty exhausted after our long days we each had. So after presents we cuddled up and flipped through the tv to find a movie and eventually just fell asleep.

Merry Christmas. So far, the best yet.

Bringing the Cooking Lessons Home

We left the hotel at the Neapolitan time of 10ish or 11ish and headed back to the town to find some breakfast. We parked in another paid parking lot so Kyle was happy. After breakfast we looked in a couple of shops after to see if we could find a ravioli cutter but still no luck. So weird. It was so nice out again, such good luck with the weather. We found another cute look out area that was apart of the "public gardens" we found in the guidebook at the hotel. It was just a little area with benches and the look out, not many flowers or garden like things.  When we were walking back to the car we saw this sign on a wood shop and I had to take a photo for dad. I thought it was so clever! Still on a mission for a ravioli cutter we headed towards Pozzuoli to try and go to their "Costco-Like" or "Walmart-Like" stores they have. One is called Leroy Merlin and the other is Auchan. The one we went to was apart of this huge mall. Kyle and I h...

Sorrento Cooking Class

We lived like true Italians today. Woke up, cooked a huge meal, ate that huge meal, took a nap then started over again. The whole day was full of great pleasures for the both of us and so fulfilling! Literally! We started the cooking class at 10am this morning. It was held in this huge kitchen at the resort we are staying at. Chef Mina was our teacher and she usually has an interpreter but she didnt today which was fine because we thought her English was pretty good. She also knew German which Kyle knows too so that was helpful! She was from Germany originally and then moved to Italy so German is her first language then Italian then English. We both got aprons to wear and started with making a pizza dough from scratch. Mina used live yeast which is something I've never worked with before. Kyle and I both took turns kneading the dough. He was hesitant at first but he did good! Mina covered the dough ball and put it in the oven to rise. After that we made the marinara sa...

Baking Around goes to Italy

Since I couldn't be here for Kyles actual birthday, I made him a cake today instead! Today was the first day I went out on my own. I accomplished ordering a cappuccino and going to the market all by myself! Such an accomplishment. I loved going to the market and looking at everything. I'm pretty sure I was asked like 10 times if I needed help because I would just stand there and stare at all the packaging. This is what I bought to bake a cake with, they even had candles too! It took me about an hour to figure out how to use the oven though. I pretty much took the whole thing apart (not the first time I've taken an oven apart) to find out that you need to light it with a lighter. Luckily the internet was working today so I also went online and searched for the manual for about 30 minutes. Once I decoded that I was ready to bake a cake! Now baking in another country, not terribly difficult...but baking in Kyles kitchen?! Thats another story. The poor guy doesn't reall...
