Mae Abroad

We lived like true Italians today. Woke up, cooked a huge meal, ate that huge meal, took a nap then started over again. The whole day was full of great pleasures for the both of us and so fulfilling! Literally! We started the cooking class at 10am this morning. It was held in this huge kitchen at the resort we are staying at. Chef Mina was our teacher and she usually has an interpreter but she didnt today which was fine because we thought her English was pretty good. She also knew German which Kyle knows too so that was helpful! She was from Germany originally and then moved to Italy so German is her first language then Italian then English. We both got aprons to wear and started with making a pizza dough from scratch. Mina used live yeast which is something I've never worked with before. Kyle and I both took turns kneading the dough. We asked Sabrina at the front counter how to get to the downtown area tonight. She said it was a 25 minute walk so we started out in the direction she pointed us in. We ended up stopping at this lookout point where we could see the whole bay of Sorrento. It was beautiful! There was this cave looking path by the look out and we walked down in it and it ended up taking us all the way down to the beach! Most beaches in Italy you have to pay for but we just walked right on this one. It had black sand and lots of rocks and was in this little cove area. There were only a few people there. We sat and soaked up the sun for a bit and collected shells and rocks. Kyle eventually started skipping rocks until his arm started to hurt. So we walked back up to the top and decided to go back to the hotel to get the car and drive to the city center instead. This is where Kyle fell in love with Sorrento. We are now leaving Positano by ferry and headed to Amalfi.  It is a beautiful and the sun is shining with no clouds...a perfect day!  The water is pretty calm as well so the boat is gliding smoothly across the water. As we pulled away from the dock and started taking pictures of Positano.  The buildings contrast so well against the mountainside and make for a spectacular view. Another picture of Positano. We saw this giant hole in the mountain and thought it looked really cool.  I told Laura that a dragon lived there but she didn't believe me. Me and Laura on the boat! The Amalfi coast has many arches supporting the roads, which have been there for centuries.  They make for a good view!
